BBL Hero™ Skin Rejuvenation: A Safe & Effective Way To Revitalise Your Skin

BBL Hero™ stands for Broadband Light High Energy Rapid Output.  Spanning a wider visible spectrum than IPL, BBL Hero™ is a type of pulsed light therapy that can penetrate to a variety of skin levels, offering the most complete and versatile light system in its class.

The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. Once this heat is absorbed by the targeted skin cells, the regeneration process begins. This process restores a natural, healthy glow and a smoother, more youthful appearance in the long-term.

BBL energy allows your clinician to treat skin concerns related to general ageing and sun damage, including pigmentation, small facial veins, and many other skin conditions, such as acne and rosacea. Your treatment plan will be tailored to match your skin type and your desired results.

Types of BBL Treatments

Forever Flawless™ BBL

Forever Flawless™ is a corrective treatment that targets pigmentation and fine blood vessels to eliminate uneven skin tone and redness to help restore your skin.  Forever Flawless™ works to make your skin more radiant and even-toned.  Forever Flawless™ also stimulates collagen to repair ageing skin concerns related to sun damage.

Usually, 2-4 treatments are required approximately one month apart.  The Forever Flawless™ treatment can be followed by Forever Young™ treatments to maintain results.

Forever Young™ BBL

Forever Young™ BBL is the only device that has been shown to change the expression of genes associated with ageing, longevity and increased lifespan. As we age the genes associated with skin ageing are activated resulting in the tell-tale signs associated with older skins.

Forever Young™ is a revolutionary treatment that transmits light energy deep into the layers of the skin, boosting your skin’s natural ability to rejuvenate.

Forever Young™ BBL is ideal for women and men displaying signs of skin ageing and sun damage, or as a preventative therapy to keep skin looking clear, smooth and refreshed.

The number of treatments varies from patient to patient.  After an initial series of Forever Flawless™ or Forever Young™ BBL treatments, we recommend 2-4 Forever Young™ treatments a year to keep your skin refreshed, rejuvenated and healthy-looking.

Forever Clear™ BBL

Forever Clear™ is a new approach to acne treatment, using the power of light to comfortably help clear acne without medication.  Forever Clear™ is a 3-step process using blue, yellow and red near-infrared light therapy.

Blue light destroys acne-causing bacteria within the pores.  Yellow light reduces the skin’s inflammatory response and acne-associated redness, and initiates healing deep within the skin.  Red near-infrared light further stimulates healing and collagen building within the skin.

A course of 4-treatments every 2-weeks is usually recommended, however the number of treatments required does vary.  Touch-up treatments may also be required depending on the severity and cause of the acne.

Skin Tyte™

SkinTyte™ is a non-invasive infrared treatment used to treat mild skin laxity and sagging. It is a fast, and comfortable treatment tailored for all skin types.

SkinTyte™ utilises advanced infrared light technology to deeply heat dermal collagen while continuously protecting the treated epidermis (top layer of the skin) with sapphire contact cooling.  The energy is delivered in rapid, gentle pulses to promote contraction and partial coagulation of collagen. This process initiates the body’s natural healing process which creates renewed collagen leading to the appearance of firmer tissue.

Most patients require an average of 4-6 treatments at monthly intervals.

BBL Skin Rejuvenation FAQs

Below are popular questions about BBL Skin Rejuvenation we receive. If your questions are not listed, please contact us.

How does BBL skin rejuvenation work?
It’s well documented that IPL is effective in skin rejuvenation. Spanning a wider visible spectrum than IPL, BBL is a type of pulsed light therapy that can penetrate to a variety of skin levels, offering the most complete and versatile light system in its class.  The light energy delivered by BBL HERO gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas then stimulates skin cells to regenerate, revealing younger looking skin. Fine blood vessels that cause redness are reduced, pigmented age spots and sun spots are lightened, while skin feels smoother, and uneven tone and texture are improved.

The body’s natural processes then work on the results of the interaction between the light and the tissue to make it look better from many different perspectives.

Who is this treatment suitable for?
It is suitable for many skin types, but is best for those with lighter skins who have issues with blotchy sun damage, broken capillaries, acne, rosacea and other inflammatory conditions. Your clinician will advise you whether or not this treatment is suitable or advisable for your skin and its concerns.
Will it harm my skin?
No treatment is risk-free, however, the BBL settings can be tailored to suit your skin and its concerns.
How many BBL treatments are required and how often?
A standard BBL regimen usually involves a series of two to five treatments, two to four weeks apart. The actual number of treatments depend on your skin condition after seeing the doctor to discuss what may be achieved and settings are prescribed. These sessions are booked with a registered nurse.
Is a BBL treatment painful?
The level of discomfort felt varies, with most patients tolerating the treatment well.
Are there any BBL skin rejuvenation side effects?
After effects of BBL treatment include patchy redness. Some pigment and freckles will become darker and slowly fade or flake off over the following weeks. Some swelling or scabbing may occur.

Can I see the results immediately?
The immediate effects will just be of some heat-related redness. Abnormal pigmentation will look slightly different in colour, maybe a bit greyer, and will subsequently darken. The beneficial effects will become noticeable over subsequent weeks as pigment improves and the skin smooths.  Studies have shown that after 10 years of maintenance therapy with BBL® (once or twice a year), the skin looks younger under the microscope than when the patient began (and was 10 years younger).
Can BBL be used for rosacea treatment, spider vein treatment, or acne scar treatment?
Yes. BBL® anti-inflammatory effects is very good for most people’s rosacea symptoms, although it will not cure it. Many capillaries and the colour of scars may also improve, however, we have other treatments that may be recommended in some instances.
How do I care for my skin following a BBL treatment?

After BBL® skin rejuvenation treatment, it is essential that a broad spectrum SPF30, or higher, sunscreen be used to continue to protect the skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

The skin is not made more sensitive to the sun by this procedure. Makeup may be applied following the procedure and skin care may continue as normal.
