This is a corrective laser treatment which aims to improve the overall colour as well as skin tone and texture. The treatment is customised to the individual needs of the skin.
FAQs About Vascular lasers
How does the treatment feel?
You may experience mild discomfort throughout the treatment, which will vary depending on the condition of the your skin and the area being treated. Your practitioner will work with you to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible.
How long does a vascular laser procedure take?
Depending on the size and area to be treated, your session could last from 5-30 minutes.
What will happen after the treatment?
You may experience mild redness and puffiness immediately following the laser, but you should be able to return to normal activities right away. For some individuals, there may be some temporary swelling. Port wine stains will appear darker for about a week before lightening.
It is essential that a broad-spectrum sunscreen is applied. If desired, makeup may also be applied. We recommend mineral makeup or Oxygenetix as it has been designed to heal and protect your skin while it recovers.
How long before I see results?
Some lesions may immediately disappear while others will take time to be broken down and removed by your body. Your skin will continue to regenerate and rejuvenate for several weeks. Your practitioner will work with you to determine the number of treatments you will need to achieve your desired results.
How often can treatments be done?
Treatments can be done every 4 to 6 weeks. Your practitioner will guide you on this.
