Ultraformer MPT (HIFU)

Below the surface (epidermis), your skin is made up of three important layers: the superficial dermis, the deeper dermis and an ‘infrastructure’ layer that connects your skin to the SMAS lining the muscular structures below. With age, the building blocks of supple, youthful skin (collagen, elastic fibres and a gel-like substance called the extracellular matrix) lose their strength and elasticity and the SMAS layer loses its ability to support your skin. The result is loose, sagging and wrinkled skin. Ultraformer treatment tackles sagging skin at all three levels.

Ultraformer MPT works with geometric precision. Micro-Focused Ultrasound sends bursts of finely tuned ultrasound energy to precise depths to stimulate regeneration. The target tissues are heated to the specific temperature required to induce ‘thermal injury’, which causes the collagen to contract, and then, over time, to produce new and stronger collagen. Ultraformer’s Exact Focusing Technology ensures that the right depth is always targeted.

Treatment benefits build gradually over a period of a few months, as the production of new collagen provides a more youthful support structure for your skin. You can expect to experience a tighter, more toned skin, along with some reversal of sagging in the treated areas.

Ultraformer MPT treatment is ideal for areas that are particularly prone to sagging skin, such as the cheeks and jowls, the eyebrow area, the nasolabial lines (from the nose to the corners of your mouth), and the submental area (the area under your chin).

It can also be used very effectively for skin tightening on problem areas of different parts of the body.

The recommended number of treatments will vary depending on your skin condition and the treatment type, but it is usually between 1 and 3.

The advanced technology of the Ultraformer MPT makes the treatment more comfortable than other HIFU devices, with most patients reporting only mild sensations such as tingling and warmth during the procedure.

After a special gel is applied to the targeted area, the applicator is passed over the skin to deliver ultrasound energy.  This produces a warm sensation in the treated area. The treatment can be personalised with its multi-select cartridges, enabling your clinician to tailor the treatment to your individual needs.

The treatment usually takes about 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment type and area being treated.

Some patients may experience redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated area, but there is usually no recovery time with most patients immediately resuming their normal daily activities.

Results can be seen soon after treatment, but as the collagen regeneration process continues your skin continues to improve for up to 6 months after the treatment.
