Non Surgical Eyelid Lift (Non Surgical Blepharoplasty)

A non surgical eyelid lift (or non surgical blepharoplasty) is a non-invasive procedure to help you restore, refresh and minimise aging effects around your eyes. Unlike traditional eyelid surgery, non surgical eyelid lift takes advantage of plasma to lift and tighten eyelids with minimum associated risks.

Non surgical blepharoplasty is performed for those who have some excess skin in their upper lids and may also help those whose eyebrows drop down a bit at the ends.

This procedure is also effective in treating different skin conditions.

Plasma Eyelid Lift: Advanced Eyelid Lift Without Surgery

Plasma eyelid lift is the latest technology to treat upper eyelid without surgery. Plasma, in this case, refers to a high-energy state where electrons become free from their respective atoms. It does not refer to the plasma in blood.

During this treatment, local anaesthetic is injected along the length of the eyebrows and this numbs the area of the forehead and eyelid above and below this area. A plasma-generating device is then used to direct dots of energy at the skin of the eyelid and also of a section of the forehead resulting in an oblique ‘stripe’ from the mid to outer brow up towards the hairline.

Plasma eyelid lift procedure will take from half an hour to 1 hour.

What Happens After Non Surgical Eyelid Lift Treatment

After the procedure, you will feel numb due to the local anaesthetic for ½-1hr. There may be some warmth/heat felt. The area will be red with dot scabs – for most, this area will include most, but not all, of the upper eyelid and an oblique stripe from the mid to outer brow up to near the hairline. The area will feel tight at times.

You will be given a covering cream to use on the area which will help to disguise the underlying redness. This may be reapplied as needed. It contains sunscreen.

The scabs will come away over some days, usually within a week or so. The scabs must NOT be picked or scratched off as this may create a wound. Allow them to come away of their own accord.

Swelling will occur and will vary in degree among individuals. It will travel to the area under your eyes. Bruising may also occur from the local anaesthetic. Sleeping with your upper body elevated may help to reduce this. Swelling will last a few days to a week or so.

Plasma Eyelid Lift Aftercare

  • The area may be washed with plain water. Bland cleansers which do not sting may also be used. If anything stings, wash away with water.
  • Pat dry the area afterwards. Do not rub the area as this may dislodge or catch on scabs. A hair dryer on cool setting may also be used. Then reapply the tinted cream.
  • If any areas do get scratched or crack, apply Vaseline to this area.
  • It is important to protect the treated area from the sun. The tinted cream contains sunscreen but it is still important to avoid sun exposure.
  • For some, additional topical or oral medications or other treatments may be necessary if pigmentation occurs due to sun exposure.
