How do I know if the UltraClear laser treatments are right for me?

Ideal candidates for UltraClear laser treatments are in their 30’s or older with skin damaged by exposure to the sun, age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, discolouration, rough texture, acne scars, or other skin imperfections. An in-depth consultation with a medical practitioner is essential when considering UtraClear laser or any cosmetic procedure.

What is the UltraClear procedure like?

You can expect some moderate discomfort during the treatment, but suitable forms of anaesthesia will be applied to make the treatment more tolerable. Over-the-counter pain relievers may be taken in the days after the procedure to alleviate any residual discomfort.

How many UltraClear laser treatments will I need?

Generally you will see the difference you want after only one treatment. In the days and weeks after the treatment your skin will gradually look softer, smoother and tighter. The fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and uneven textures will start to show improvement. The treatment can, however, be repeated as needed.

What can I expect after my procedure?

Immediately following the procedure you can expect a sensation similar to a sunburn, lasting several hours. You can expect peeling of dead skin from the treatment area. This is a natural exfoliation process that may last 7-10 days. Swelling will vary with the area treated but may be quite prominent around the eyes and lips. It usually begins to subside after 2-4 days.

With stronger treatments, there may be some spot bleeding points and ooziness of the treated tissues. With these stronger treatments, there will be stricter requirements concerning the initial post-treatment care including the use of occlusive ointments such as Vaseline. These special instructions will be detailed at your consultation.
