Many of us are looking for that extra edge to strengthen, firm and tone our body.  Cosmetic Medicine is excited to introduce truSculpt FLEX, the latest muscle sculpting treatment that is clinically proven to contour and sculpt muscles. truSculpt FLEX offers a non-invasive, treatment with no downtime that can be personalised to your fitness level, body shape and body image goals.

What is truSculpt Flex?

truSculpt FLEX is a new technology that helps with improving abdominal tone, strengthening of the abdominal muscles and development of a firmer abdomen. It can also be used for strengthening, toning and firming of buttocks, thighs and other muscle groups. truSculpt Flex can be used alone or in combination with truSculpt iD non-invasive fat reduction treatment.

How does truSculpt Flex work?

The technology uses a unique method of electrical muscle stimulation to target specific muscle groups. Its proprietary Multi-Directional Stimulation (MDS) technology simulates different workouts by replicating intensified twisting, squat and crunch actions. In clinical studies, muscle mass increased by an average of 30%.

Three treatment modes can be used during each session:

  • Prep Mode creates a twisting motion to warm up, stretch the muscles and slowly build a tolerance to muscle contractions.
  • Tone Mode contracts the muscles, hold them to the point of exhaustion, and then relaxes to increase strength and enhance endurance.
  • Sculpt Mode stimulates fast, deep, sequential contractions of the muscles for building muscle mass.

During the treatment, sticky gel pads are placed over the selected muscle groups and electrodes are applied to these pads. As the treatment begins, you will feel a gentle contraction sensation. As the intensity slowly increases the muscle contraction intensifies. The truSculpt® Flex device produces different patterns of contraction to stimulate various forms of exercise.

Post-procedure, you may notice tingling in the areas treated for up to a few hours and/or slight muscle soreness or tenderness for 24-72 hours.

How does truSculpt Flex differ from Coolsculpting or TruSculpt ID?

TruSculpt Flex is a muscle-stimulating device, rather than a fat-reducing device which both CoolSculpting and TruSculpt iD are.  All these devices will help to improve the physique but will approach this through different methods.

What are truSculpt Flex benefits?

  • Three treatment options replicate intensified crunch, squat and twisting actions.
  • Clinical studies resulted in an average of 30% muscle mass increase.
  • Up to eight areas can be treated in 45 minutes in as little as four sessions. However, treatments spaced at least two days apart and two treatments per week are ideal.
  • Maximum results are visible 8-12 weeks after the last session. Additional treatments may be required to achieve the personalised results you desire.
  • No downtime.

Most adult men and women who are looking to increase muscle tone or mass can benefit from truSculpt Flex treatments. Flexing your muscles has never been easier!

FAQs About truSculpt Flex

How do you create a personalised muscle sculpting treatment plan?
We all have certain areas that we wish to improve and we can tailor the plan according to what is desired and also according to the level of initial fitness. Those who are recovering from injury or who have never exercised may wish to have a longer program, starting more gently.

Whereas those who are already very fit may begin more strongly to really define and stimulate already-impressive muscles. During each treatment, your “Flex trainer” will encourage you to gradually increase the intensity of muscle contractions to get the best result from your treatment.

It is recommended to have two treatments per week for two weeks, or three weeks for the longer program and then continue with maintenance treatments after a few months.
During this time, it is encouraged that you continue your regular diet and fitness regimen.

Which treatment mode is best for my body?
The treatment mode will depend on your level of fitness. Those who have a low level of fitness or are recovering from injury may start with a preparatory mode which will gradually get the muscles going, whereas those who are more fit may start with a “tone” mode and then progress to a “sculpt” mode. In all modes, the intensity level will be gradually increased through the session according to tolerance.
Do I need to be a certain weight or muscularity to see results?
Those who are already lean will be better able to see their muscle definition and size improvements, but all will be able to see improvements in posture and strength. Some may wish to combine truSculpt Flex or CoolSculpting with these treatments to reduce the overlying fat layer to improve their overall result.
Who can use truSculpt® Flex?
Before considering truSculpt® Flex treatments, the Centre will need to know that you do not have any conditions precluding its use, such as:

  • Cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Epilepsy.
  • Hernia in the region to be treated.
How do I prepare for a truSculpt® Flex treatment?
Before considering truSculpt® Flex treatments, the Centre will need to know that you do not have any conditions precluding its use, such as:

  • If there is a lot of hair in the treatment area, it will need to be shaved.
  • Ensure you are well hydrated, but go to the toilet before your treatment.
  • Remove body piercings if they are in the treatment area.
  • Don’t exercise in the 12 hours prior to your treatment to ensure that your exercise tolerance is not decreased for the treatment.
Are there any Side Effects of truSculpt® Flex?
After your treatment, it is quite normal to experience:

  • Minor, temporary pinkness of the skin immediately after the procedure. Contact the Cosmetic Medicine Centre if experiencing prolonged redness or irritation. This may indicate a sensitivity to the gel pads which may require further treatment.
  • Numbness or tingling in the treatment area.
  • Random small contractions of muscles.
  • Muscle soreness for a day or two afterwards. You’ve done a BIG workout!
  • Frequent urination or bowel movements./li>
  • Thirst. DO drink more water./li>
  • Increased hunger. Ensure you have good protein intake for building muscle but DO NOT consume excess calories.
truSculpt® Flex Post Treatment Care
Continue with your regular fitness regimen between your truSculpt®. Flex initial sessions, and maintenance, to ensure you get the best results from your program, but don’t do a big workout in the 12 hours prior to your truSculpt® Flex session.
How long will recovery time be?
Some may experience a bit of muscle fatigue or soreness – a bit like after doing a very big workout when you’re not used to exercise – for a day or two afterwards. There may also be some temporary thirst, increased hunger and increased urination or bowel movements for a few days.
How long will truSculpt results last for?
After the initial sessions, most will see increasing results for about 12 weeks. Most will wish to maintain their improvements and have further treatments after this, perhaps a single treatment, once a month, but this will vary with requirements.
