How does PicoWay Resolve work?

PicoWay Resolve is part of the acclaimed PicoWay laser system from Candela Medical. The special Resolve applicator is a state of the art treatment for pigmentation and skin rejuvenation that splits the main laser beam into smaller beams. The beams deliver ultra-short picosecond laser pulses that reach below the surface of the skin, creating a “photoacoustic” effect that shatters unwanted pigment and stimulates production of collagen and elastin, without breaking the outermost layer of the skin. PicoWay Resolve literally works from the inside out.

Because of the split laser beams and ultra-short pulses (in picoseconds), the output of heat energy is less compared with most lasers, so less energy is transferred to the skin. This results in less pain and discomfort during the treatment and no lengthy recovery time.

Results are seen gradually, over the next 6-8 weeks.

What can you expect with PicoWay Resolve?

The treatment takes around 30 minutes and discomfort should be minimal. You can usually resume your normal activities or go back to work immediately after, making this a true “lunchtime” procedure for busy professionals.

You should expect some redness immediately after treatment, which typically lasts anywhere from hours to a couple of days, and pigmented areas may appear darker or lighter for the first several days. There is little discomfort following the procedure, and makeup can be applied, in most cases, immediately.
