Better Skin This Winter: Matrix RF

July 16,2014 | Posted by: cmc-dashboard

They sound like something out of a futuristic movie starring Keanu Reeves, but Matrix RF fractional radiofrequency treatments are targeting fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and sun damage right now. This is good news for sun damaged Aussies who have made it through the long, hot summer of 2014 and have dry, flaky skin to show for it.

A fractional RF treatment is a non-invasive treatment intended to improve the tone, texture, and colour of your skin. The Matrix RF focuses on thousands of microscopic treatment zones that target a fraction of the skin at a time (think of a photographic image being enhanced or altered pixel by pixel.)

The Matrix RF has undergone extensive clinical trials since 2009, and we’ve seen at The Cosmetic Medicine Centre just how effective a treatment it is.

Increasing Collagen

Skin resurfacing is a popular concept. Many people dismiss it, however, because of the protracted downtime associated with most resurfacing treatments, as well as the risks and high cost of CO2 or erbium lasers. Matrix RF fractional treatments grew organically out of the need for an effective but less intrusive treatment.

The Matrix RF targets damaged skin by creating infinitesimal and highly controlled wounds. The healthy skin around the treatment area accelerates the healing process. Furthermore, there is an increased level of collagen production in the healthy new skin cells that have been revealed which leads to smoother skin texture.

Sun Damage & Skin Resurfacing

Premature wrinkling is on the rise. We see it every day on the faces of the people who come to our offices. Premature wrinkling can be the result of a wide range of factors, including lifestyle, genetics, and the environment, including the punishing rays of the sun.

“The detrimental effects of excessive exposure to sunlight are serious. In the short-term, there is the risk of sunburn, which can be painful and if severe enough considered a first-degree burn. In the long term, there is an increased risk of developing skin cancer, which can be fatal.” – Australian Institute of Health and Welfare

Understandably reluctant to let youth slip away without a fight, many men and women visit us to discuss cosmetic enhancement to revitalise sun-damaged skin. The Matrix RF skin resurfacing treatment is one of the options we offer.
